This oil painting by Sarah Burns was created en plein air and in the studio, with cumulus clouds floating over railroad tracks in the small town of Phoenix, OR. Phoenix has an agricultural history and these buildings once stored pears to be picked up by the train. Today the buildings have other purposes and the railroad tracks have infrequent train use.
Sarah often paints in her neighborhood, which is not a fancy or outwardly interesting place. She wants to find and show beauty in the ordinary.
Painting measures 16” x 20”. Framed painting measures 17” x 21”.
Created on museum quality birch panel, This piece has been framed in by furniture craftsman Jens Sehm hand gilt.
